Summary

CVE-2023-36390 is a reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting multiple RUGGEDCOM ROX series products, including the MX5000, MX5000RE, RX1400, RX1500, RX1501, RX1510, RX1511, RX1512, RX1524, RX1536, RX5000, with versions all below V2.16.0. An attacker can exploit this weakness by creating malicious links that, when clicked, allow the execution of harmful JavaScript code in users' web browsers. The vulnerability arises due to the application's failure to sanitize user input in its web interface, resulting in the reflected value being included in the response without proper validation. The error message "invalid params element name" is displayed when the affected action parameters receive the malicious input.
