Summary

CVE-2023-3611 is a local privilege escalation vulnerability affecting the Linux kernel's net/sched: sch_qfq component. The issue stems from the qfq_change_agg() function in net/sched/sch_qfq.c, which allows an out-of-bounds write due to insufficient bounds checking on lmax when updating it based on packet sizes. This vulnerability could be exploited by attackers to gain elevated privileges on the system. It is strongly advised to upgrade past commit 3e337087c3b5805fe0b8a46ba622a962880b5d64 to mitigate this vulnerability.
