Summary

CVE-2023-36039 is a new vulnerability affecting Microsoft Exchange Servers. This issue enables an unauthenticated attacker to perform email spoofing, impersonating legitimate senders and potentially tricking recipients into revealing sensitive information or downloading malware. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by manipulating the email header information. Exchange Server versions prior to 2019 are believed to be impacted by this flaw. It is strongly recommended that organizations apply the available patch as soon as possible to mitigate the risk.
