Summary

CVE-2023-35866 is a vulnerability affecting KeePassXC through version 2.7.5. This issue allows a local attacker to modify Database security settings, such as the master password and second-factor authentication, during an authenticated KeePassXC session without requiring re-authentication. The significance of this vulnerability lies in the fact that an attacker can make these changes without the user's knowledge or intervention, potentially compromising the database's security. Despite this, the vendor maintains that asking for the user's password before making changes does not provide any additional protection against a local attacker.
