Summary

CVE-2023-35321 is a newly disclosed Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability affecting Windows Deployment Services (WDS). An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending specially crafted packets to a WDS server, leading to a memory leak and potential crash of the WDS service. Successful exploitation can result in the WDS server becoming unresponsive or unavailable, causing disruptions to organizations that rely on WDS for automated installation and configuration of Microsoft operating systems. It is recommended that affected organizations apply the Microsoft Security Bulletin MS23-036 patch to mitigate this vulnerability.
