Summary

CVE-2023-34236 is a vulnerability affecting the Weave GitOps Terraform Controller, which allows an authenticated remote attacker to view sensitive information. The issue arises from the Weave GitOps Terraform Runners (tf-runner), where functions such as `tfexec.ShowPlan`, `tfexec.ShowPlanRaw`, and `tfexec.Output` inadvertently print out sensitive data. This data may contain configurations or tokens that could be exploited for unauthorized access or control of managed resources. The vulnerability can be mitigated by upgrading to Weave GitOps Terraform Controller versions v0.14.4 or v0.15.0-rc.5. As a temporary measure, users can also add the `DISABLE_TF_LOGS` environment variable to tf-runners to prevent the logging of sensitive information.
