Summary
CVE-2023-34058 is a vulnerability affecting VMware Tools, where a SAML token signature bypass exists. Malicious actors with Guest Operation Privileges in a target virtual machine can potentially elevate their privileges if the target virtual machine has been assigned a more privileged Guest Alias. This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access and privilege escalation within the virtual environment. VMware has advised assigning privileged Guest Aliases with caution and applying the available patch to mitigate this risk.
