Summary

CVE-2023-3342: The User Registration plugin for WordPress, versions up to and including 3.0.2, contains a vulnerability that allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access or higher to upload arbitrary files due to a hardcoded encryption key and missing file type validation. This issue, located in the 'ur_upload_profile_pic' function, poses a potential risk for remote code execution. The vulnerability was partially patched in version 3.0.2 but fully addressed in the subsequent update, 3.0.2.1. WordPress users are advised to install the latest patch to mitigate this risk.
