Summary

CVE-2023-33308 is a stack-based overflow vulnerability [CWE-124] affecting Fortinet FortiOS versions 7.0.0 through 7.0.10 and 7.2.0 through 7.2.3, as well as FortiProxy versions 7.0.0 through 7.0.9 and 7.2.0 through 7.2.2. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted packets to proxy or firewall policies with proxy mode and deep or full packet inspection enabled. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to execute arbitrary code or commands remotely and unauthenticated. This poses a serious threat to affected systems and requires immediate remediation by applying the relevant security patches.
