Summary

CVE-2023-33171 is a newly disclosed cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Microsoft Dynamics 365 installations that are run on-premises. An attacker can exploit this flaw by injecting malicious scripts into a targeted user's session, potentially gaining unauthorized access to sensitive data or taking control of the user's browser. Successful exploitation relies on the user visiting a specially crafted webpage or clicking a malicious link. Microsoft has released a security update to address this issue. It is strongly recommended that organizations running on-premises Microsoft Dynamics 365 deploy the patch as soon as possible to mitigate the risk of attack.
