Summary

CVE-2023-33042 is a transient Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability that affects modems. The issue is triggered when the modem receives a RRC Setup message. Once exploited, the vulnerability causes the modem to become unresponsive, leading to a denial of service condition. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by sending specially crafted RRC Setup messages to the targeted modem, resulting in a temporary disruption of the affected device's functionality. This vulnerability poses a potential risk to network availability and could lead to service outages if not mitigated promptly.
