Summary

CVE-2023-32693 is a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Decidim, an open-source participatory democracy framework developed in Ruby on Rails. The flaw resides in the external link feature, which is susceptible to XSS attacks. If exploited, an attacker could inject malicious JavaScript code that runs in the context of a currently logged-in user. Potential consequences include manipulating users into endorsing or supporting proposals they did not intend to, thereby compromising the integrity of the platform. Decidim addressed this issue by releasing patches in versions 0.27.3 and 0.26.7.
