Summary

CVE-2023-3167 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Mail Queue plugin for WordPress. The issue, present in versions up to 1.1, arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the handling of email subjects. Consequently, unauthenticated attackers can inject arbitrary web scripts, which will execute whenever a user opens an injected page. This poses a significant security risk as it could lead to the theft of user data or the compromise of entire WordPress installations. Users are advised to update the Mail Queue plugin to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this vulnerability.
