Summary

CVE-2023-3158 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Mail Control plugin for WordPress. Versions up to 0.2.8 are impacted by this issue. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by injecting malicious scripts into email subject lines. When an email with the injected subject is viewed by a user, the script is executed, potentially granting unauthenticated attackers the ability to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages visited by the user. This can lead to unintended actions or data theft. Users of the Mail Control plugin are advised to update to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
