Summary

CVE-2023-31425 is a privilege escalation vulnerability affecting the fosexec command in Brocade Fabric OS. This issue, present in versions prior to v9.1.1, enables local, authenticated users to escalate their privileges to the root level. The rbash shell is the culprit, allowing this exploit. Notably, starting with Fabric OS v9.1.0, the "root" account access has been disabled as a mitigation measure.
