Summary

CVE-2023-30791 is a vulnerability affecting Plane version 0.7.1-dev. An attacker can exploit this issue by changing their avatar image, which in turn allows them to upload files with HTML extensions. These files are not only interpreted as HTML but also execute any included JavaScript code, posing a significant security risk. This vulnerability could be exploited to launch cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks on unsuspecting users. The Plane team is advised to release a patch to mitigate this issue promptly.
