Summary

CVE-2023-30757 is a vulnerability affecting multiple versions of Siemens' Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA Portal), including V14, V15, V15.1, V16, V17, V18, and V19. The issue lies in the know-how protection feature, which fails to update the encryption of existing program blocks when a project file is updated. This shortcoming enables unauthorized access to previous, unprotected versions of the project, putting sensitive information at risk. Attackers who gain access to the project file can recover these versions without the need for the know-how protection password.
