Summary

CVE-2023-30738 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the UEFI firmware in Samsung's Galaxy Book, Galaxy Book Pro, Galaxy Book Pro 360, and Galaxy Book Odyssey models prior to the October 2023 release. This issue stems from an improper input validation mechanism, which in turn enables a local attacker to execute SMM (System Management Mode) memory corruption. Successful exploitation could result in unauthorized access to sensitive data or even system takeover, emphasizing the need for users to install the upcoming firmware update as soon as it becomes available.
