Summary

CVE-2023-30633 is a vulnerability affecting Insyde InsydeH2O's TrEEConfigDriver in kernel versions 5.0 to 5.5. It allows for the reporting of false Trusted Platform Module (TPM) PCR values, potentially masking malware activity on devices. PCRs are used to record device and software configuration for security purposes. A vulnerable device can falsely represent itself as healthy by extending arbitrary values into PCR banks, either through physical access or compromised user credentials. This issue shares similarities with CVE-2021-42299 on Surface Pro devices.
