CVE-2023-2990 is a newly disclosed denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Fortra Globalscape EFT versions prior to 8.1.0.16. The issue arises when the software encounters a compressed message that decompresses to an identical copy of itself, leading to an infinite recursion process that ultimately crashes the service, rendering it unavailable for legitimate use.
