Summary

CVE-2023-2982 is a vulnerability affecting the WordPress Social Login and Register plugin, versions up to and including 7.6.4. Hackers can exploit this issue by bypassing authentication, gaining unauthorized access to user accounts. The vulnerability stems from insufficient encryption of user data during login. Attackers who know a user's email address can log in as that user, potentially assuming administrative roles. A partial patch was issued in version 7.6.4, with a complete fix available in version 7.6.5.
