Summary

CVE-2023-29454 represents a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. Unlike the typical XSS attacks, this issue allows an attacker to inject malicious code into a web application, which is then saved and later executed for every victim accessing the affected web pages. This can lead to data theft, unauthorized account access, or other malicious activities. The attacker initially sends the payload, which is then inadvertently stored by the application in databases or server-side text files. Subsequently, the application unwittingly delivers the payload to victims, resulting in potential security risks.
