Summary

CVE-2023-29366 is a critical vulnerability affecting the Windows Geolocation Service. This issue permits an attacker to execute arbitrary code remotely by sending specially crafted GPS data to an affected system. Successful exploitation could lead to a compromise of the entire system, resulting in data theft, unauthorized access, or further attacks. Microsoft strongly advises installing the latest security updates to mitigate this risk. Users are also encouraged to restrict access to the Geolocation Service and enable a firewall to block unsolicited GPS data.
