Summary

CVE-2023-29175 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting FortiOS 6.2 to 7.2.3 and FortiProxy 1.2 to 2.0. This issue is classified as an improper certificate validation vulnerability (CWE-295), which enables a remote and unauthenticated attacker to perform Man-in-the-Middle attacks on the communication channel between the vulnerable device and FortiGuard's map server. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to intercepted and manipulated data, posing a significant risk to data integrity and confidentiality.
