Summary

CVE-2023-29145 is a vulnerability affecting the Malwarebytes EDR 1.0.11 Linux driver. The issue lies in the driver's failure to adequately whitelist executable libraries, allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary code. This can be accomplished through manipulation of the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable, setting LD_PRELOAD, or running an executable in a debugger. The vulnerability poses a significant risk as it enables attackers to bypass security measures and potentially gain unauthorized access to systems running the affected driver.
