Summary

CVE-2023-2908 is a null pointer dereference vulnerability identified in Libtiff's tif_dir.c file. Maliciously crafted TIFF image files can be used to trigger this issue in the tiffcp utility. Consequences of this vulnerability include undefined behavior and an application crash, potentially resulting in a denial of service. Attackers can exploit this flaw by passing specially crafted TIFF files to the vulnerable utility, exploiting the null pointer dereference and disrupting service.
