Summary

CVE-2023-28868 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the Support Assistant component in NCP Secure Enterprise Client versions prior to 12.22. This issue enables attackers to manipulate symbolic links and delete arbitrary files on the targeted operating system. The vulnerability arises due to insufficient input validation, allowing an adversary to create malicious links that bypass normal file deletion protections. Successful exploitation of this weakness can lead to significant data loss or system compromise. It is strongly recommended that users update their NCP Secure Enterprise Client software to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
