Summary

CVE-2023-28577 is a vulnerability affecting the function call related to CAM_REQ_MGR_RELEASE_BUF in a storage system. The issue lies in the lack of a check to ensure the buffer is not being used before it is released. Consequently, if a kernel virtual address (VA) is obtained using cam_mem_get_cpu_buf and another thread concurrently calls CAM_REQ_MGR_RELEASE_BUF, it can lead to a Use-After-Free (UAF) vulnerability on the kernel address. This vulnerability could potentially be exploited to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges.
