CVE-2023-28468 is a vulnerability affecting Insyde InsydeH2O's FvbServicesRuntimeDxe module in kernel versions 5.0 to 5.5. The vulnerability lies in an SMI handler exposed by the FvbServicesRuntimeDxe SMM module, which enables an attacker to interact with the SPI flash in real-time from the operating system. This issue poses a significant risk as it allows unauthorized access and manipulation of critical system data.
