Summary
CVE-2023-26159 is a vulnerability affecting versions of the follow-redirects package prior to 1.15.4. The issue arises from the improper handling of URLs by the url.parse() function in new URL() construction. If an error is thrown during parsing, an attacker can manipulate the hostname, leading to potential redirection to malicious sites. This vulnerability could result in information disclosure, phishing attacks, or other security breaches.
