Summary

CVE-2023-26152 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting all versions of the static-server package. The issue stems from the server.js file's validPath function, which fails to adequately sanitize user inputs, making it susceptible to Directory Traversal attacks. An attacker can exploit this flaw by manipulating the validPath argument to gain unauthorized access to sensitive files or directories on the targeted system. Organizations using this package are advised to update to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
