Summary

CVE-2023-2517 is a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability affecting the Metform Elementor Contact Form Builder plugin for WordPress. Versions up to 3.3.2 are impacted by this issue. The root cause is the lack of proper nonce validation on the permalink_setup function, which enables unauthenticated attackers to alter permalink structures by tricking administrators into performing certain actions, such as clicking on a malicious link. Despite the presence of nonce verification, it only activates when a nonce is presented, leaving the vulnerability unprotected.
