Summary

CVE-2023-25096 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the vtysh_ubus binary in Milesight UR32L v32.3.0.5. This issue arises due to the use of an unsafe sprintf function, allowing a specially crafted HTTP request to trigger the vulnerability and result in arbitrary code execution. An attacker with high privileges can exploit this vulnerability by sending malicious HTTP requests to the affected system. Specifically, the set_qos function and the rule_name variable contain two possible format strings that can be manipulated to cause the buffer overflow.
