Summary

CVE-2023-25084 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the vtysh_ubus binary of Milesight UR32L v32.3.0.5. The issue stems from the use of an unsafe sprintf pattern, which creates multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities. A maliciously crafted HTTP request can exploit these flaws, resulting in arbitrary code execution. An attacker requiring high privileges can execute these requests, posing a significant threat to affected systems. The buffer overflow occurs specifically in the firewall_handler_set function, with the ip, mac, and description variables being the potential targets.
