Summary

CVE-2023-2438 is a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability affecting the UserPro plugin for WordPress. Versions up to 5.1.0 are susceptible to this issue. The 'userpro_save_userdata' function, which is responsible for saving user metadata, lacks proper nonce validation. As a result, unauthenticated attackers can manipulate the function by forging requests and update user meta fields. Attackers can also inject malicious JavaScript, putting the website and its users at risk. To mitigate this vulnerability, users must update the UserPro plugin to a version that addresses the issue.
