Summary
CVE-2023-21415 is a recently disclosed vulnerability affecting the VAPIX API in certain Axis products. The overlay_del.cgi component is susceptible to path traversal attacks, enabling an attacker to delete files after successfully logging in with an administrator-level account. This issue poses a significant risk, as it allows unauthorized deletion of critical system files. Axis has addressed this vulnerability by releasing updated AXIS OS versions; users are advised to implement the necessary patches to mitigate the threat.
