Summary

CVE-2023-2082 is a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the "Buy Me a Coffee – Button and Widget Plugin" for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to 3.6, stems from insufficient sanitization and escaping of user-supplied data, specifically the 'text value' used with the 'bmc_post_reception' action. As a result, authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access or higher, can inject malicious web scripts. These scripts are executed when a victim accesses a page containing the injected code, potentially leading to unintended actions or information disclosure.
