Summary

CVE-2023-20199 is a vulnerability affecting Cisco Duo Two-Factor Authentication for macOS. It allows authenticated, physical attackers to bypass secondary authentication and gain unauthorized access to affected macOS devices. This issue arises due to the faulty processing of Cisco Duo's responses when the application is configured to fail open. Attackers with primary user credentials can exploit this flaw to authenticate and bypass the second authentication factor, potentially gaining access to sensitive data or system functions without proper authorization. Users are advised to update their Cisco Duo software to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
