Summary

CVE-2023-20034 is a vulnerability affecting the Elasticsearch database in Cisco SD-WAN vManage software. This issue allows unauthenticated, remote attackers to gain access to the Elasticsearch configuration database with the privileges of the elasticsearch user. The root cause is a static username and password that are hardcoded and easily exploited. An attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request to an accessible vManage on port 9200 to successfully exploit this vulnerability and view the Elasticsearch database content. It is essential to apply the available workarounds to mitigate this risk.
