Summary
CVE-2022-48682 is a vulnerability affecting the deletefiles component in FDUPES versions prior to 2.2.0. This issue involves a Time of Check to Time of Use (TOCTOU) race condition, which allows an attacker to arbitrarily delete files by creating a symlink during the deletion process. The vulnerability arises due to an inconsistency between the file check and deletion actions, enabling potential data loss or unauthorized modification.
