Summary
CVE-2022-46293 is a critical vulnerability affecting Open Babel 3.1.1 and master commit 530dbfa3. This issue involves multiple out-of-bounds write vulnerabilities in the translationVectors parsing functionality. A specially crafted malformed file, specifically in the MOPAC file format, located within the Final Point and Derivatives section, can exploit this flaw and result in arbitrary code execution. An attacker can take advantage of this vulnerability by providing a malicious file to the vulnerable system.
