Summary

CVE-2022-4623 is a vulnerability affecting the ND Shortcodes plugin for WordPress. Before version 7.0, this plugin failed to validate and escape several shortcode attributes, making it possible for users with the contributor role and above to execute Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks by inserting malicious code into the pages or posts where the shortcode is used. This issue poses a significant security risk, allowing unauthorized script injection and potential data breaches. Users are strongly advised to update the plugin to the latest version to mitigate this vulnerability.
