Summary

CVE-2022-41793 is a critical out-of-bounds write vulnerability affecting Open Babel 3.1.1 and master commit 530dbfa3. maliciously crafted CSR format files can exploit this flaw, leading to arbitrary code execution. The vulnerability lies in the title functionality of Open Babel, which can be manipulated to overwrite memory beyond intended boundaries when processing the malicious files. An attacker can take advantage of this issue by providing a specially designed file to the victim, potentially resulting in unauthorized system access or data theft.
