Summary
CVE-2022-3701 is a privilege elevation vulnerability affecting Lenovo Vantage SystemUpdate plugin versions 2.0.0.212 and earlier. A local attacker can exploit this flaw to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges, potentially leading to significant system compromise. The vulnerability exists within the plugin and does not require any user interaction beyond the standard SystemUpdate process. Lenovo urges users to update their plugins to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
