Summary

CVE-2022-3700 is a Time of Check Time of Use (TOCTOU) vulnerability affecting Lenovo Vantage SystemUpdate Plugin version 2.0.0.212 and earlier. This issue enables a local attacker to manipulate the update process and delete arbitrary files, potentially leading to significant data loss. TOCTOU vulnerabilities occur when a system makes a check on data that is used later in an operation before the data has been updated. Lenovo has released a patch to address this issue, and users are strongly encouraged to apply the update promptly to mitigate the risk.
