Summary

CVE-2020-36744 is a vulnerability affecting the NotificationX plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the lack of proper nonce validation on the "generate_conversions()" function, resulting in a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability. Malicious actors can exploit this weakness by tricking site administrators into executing a forged request, potentially leading to the generation of conversions on behalf of the attacker. This flaw poses a significant risk, particularly for sites running outdated plugin versions up to and including 1.8.2. Upgrading to the latest version or implementing additional security measures is strongly advised to mitigate the threat.
