Summary

CVE-2000-0403 is a vulnerability affecting the CIFS Computer Browser service in Windows NT 4.0. An attacker can cause a denial of service by sending an excessive number of host announcement requests to the master browse tables. This results in the tables becoming overwhelmed, preventing legitimate host announcements from being processed, and causing the service to malfunction. This issue, also known as "HostAnnouncement Flooding" or "HostAnnouncement Frame" vulnerability, poses a significant risk to systems running this version of Windows NT, as it can lead to a disruption in network services and potentially hinder system performance.
