Summary
CVE-2000-0305 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting multiple Microsoft operating systems, including Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, and Terminal Server. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a large number of identical fragmented IP packets. Upon receipt, the targeted system will experience a denial-of-service condition due to the inability to properly reassemble the fragmented packets. This vulnerability, also known as jolt2 or the IP Fragment Reassembly flaw, poses a significant risk to network availability and integrity.
