Summary

CVE-2000-0244 is a cybersecurity vulnerability affecting the Citrix Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) protocol. This issue arises from the use of weak encryption, specifically XOR, for user authentication. An attacker who intercepts the authentication traffic could easily decrypt the credentials, posing a significant risk to the confidentiality and integrity of user data. The vulnerability was identified over two decades ago, but it still highlights the importance of implementing strong encryption methods for critical authentication processes. Upgrading to a more secure version of the ICA protocol or implementing additional security measures, such as multi-factor authentication, is recommended to mitigate this risk.
