Summary

CVE-2000-0198 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the POP3 and IMAP servers in the MERCUR mail server suite. By exploiting this issue, remote attackers are able to cause a denial of service. The buffer overflow occurs due to improper input validation in the affected servers, leading to excess data being written to a memory buffer.
